Licensed State Electrical Contractor (Master Electrician equivalent) Nebraska.
Owner, President, and Chief Engineer, Stebbing Engineering, a division of Accelerated Technologies Corp
Design/build/operate alcohol fuel refinery.
Manufacturer equipment for alcohol fuel plants.
Manufacturer specialized compressed air dryers.
Consulting and design engineering for commercial and industrial clients.
Projects include retail grocery supermarkets, motels, and department stores, bottling
plants, paper processors, misc industrial and commercial clients.
Invented, patented, and promoted licenses for scrap tire process replacing coal for steel
melting.
Career
Special Projects Engineer, Engineering Supervisor, Nucor Steel:
Design/build/construct mill equipment or processes such as continuous caster, ladle
metallurgical station, plant air compressors, vacuum degasser, arc furnace EBT conversion,
design build custom oxy/fuel burners, and a multitude of other custom designed, built on
site steel manufacturing equipment.
Special assignments:
Experimental 54″ molten-metal-to-strip caster.
SPC coordinator for quality improvements.
Safety Activities Committee Chairman: helped see a large improvement in accident
statistics.
Contract Manager, Kinning and Reil Inc:
Misc industrial
projects in the western United States: Goodyear plants, a coal fired electrical
power plant, a truck transmission plant and military bases. Scope of work involved millwright
or mechanical construction, steam, plumbing, and HVAC. Projects highly profitable, with
excellent ROI. Created and maintained high level of professionalism resulting in multiple
repeat opportunities.
Construction Coordinator, Nucor:
Design/build 2nd mill in Nebraska. Consisted of melting, casting, rolling and finishing. Much
of the equipment was in house custom design and built. Noted for minimum maintenance
problems with outstanding ROI and long term continuous ROA.
Maintenance Manager, Nucor:
Hire, train, organize maintenance
department. Helped design and build equipment for the
new green field site. Set up shop and fabricated a lot of the equipment on site with
limited budget. Hired and trained many local individuals who became highly capable.
Built our own continuous caster, walking beam reheat furnace, cooling bed, and other
equipment. Department became cost efficient and effective, with high morale and “can do”
attitude.
Project Engineer, Eastern Stainless Steel Co, Baltimore:
Design/build and start up new or revamped facilities such as walking beam reheat furnace
and slab mill complex such as: Slab casters, 48″ Strip grinding line. Slab torch cutting line,
and AOD vessel. Made big improvements to costs and quality often with very old equipment.
Manager of Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
Preventive maintenance scheduling and major outage planning, manpower efficiency
studies and cost cutting measures.
Maintenance Supervisor:
Supervise area maintenance for arc furnaces, slab casting, hot mill, bar yard, substations, air
compressors, misc stainless coil and plate processing lines: Annealing, pickling, Sendzimer
and 2 and 4-high rolling, slitting, roller and tension leveling and cut-to-length lines for
sheet.
Supervised mechanics, electricians, welders, pipe-fitters, machinists, developed and
successfully implemented training and certification testing program for millwrights and
mechanics.
